Excellent piece. I am persevering with recovering from a chronic illness, against a backdrop of a medical system which says its impossible. It is also a slow process, but so worth it for quality of life!
It is worth it. Medicine too often offers false promises. They've abandoned the human qualities that heal and have left us adrift to navigate a broken system of technology and mindless medical silos that suck the patient in with little hope of escape. I think I'll take another route.
