Quotes that are food for thought

So many great quotes come out of my conversations with my guests! This is a weekly piece with some words that might just get you thinking about your own life.

With the holiday season upon us, here are three stories about the power of giving and the transformation and opportunity it brings.

“Love and kindness are everything.”-Charlie Hedges

Charlie is remarkable in so many ways. One of his many endeavors has been bringing water to rural Uganda where it’s desperately needed. Access to these wells transformed not just the health of the village, but its social structure as well. The women who used to go to the river (often located miles away) now had the time and convenience to consider things like education!

Charlie’s efforts have touched many lives. Think about how your efforts can change lives too. Or how they might just change one life.

Carolyn “Blaze” Jensen has 22 years in the Air Force, 3,500 hours flying fighters, 1,700 in an F-16, 200 in combat, three years as a right-wing pilot for the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds and eight of those while being a mom.

She recognizes that those who went before her paved her path and now she is giving back, by helping the World War II WASPs (Women Air Force Service Pilots) gain recognition and passing the passion for aviation to the next generation of women pilots.
