This week, some thoughts about what creates our reality.
Kamin Samuel was the first African-American woman to fly helicopters in the Navy. She flew a CH-46 Sea Knight Helicopter, went on numerous deployments and worked as a flight instructor at NAS North Island (as in Top Gun for the non-aviation aficionados in the audience). She holds a PhD in Positive Neuropsychology, a Masters of Science in Information Systems, a Masters of Arts in Spiritual Psychology, and a Masters of Science in Spiritual Science.
This is a terrific podcast with an amazing woman. As you listen (do take the time to do so!) ask yourself: Do we rehearse our reality?
“Everything that’s happening out there is happening in here.”-Gerard Wouters
What if you could instantly erase the psychic baggage you carry? What would that mean for how you live the rest of your life?
Gerald spent years with a Taoist master learning to use the present to change our attitudes about the past. He found that deep seated psychological change can be nearly instantaneous, rather than taking months or even years of talk therapy. His patients are a testament to his success.
Think back to one critique that just haunts you (we all have them!). What if it just disappeared? How would that change your current reality? Your future reality?
What happens when a pragmatic and analytical scientist experiences something beyond her scientific paradigm?
Mary Neal, M.D. is an accomplished orthopedic spine surgeon. She went to UCLA Medical School, did a residency at USC and later became the Director of Spine Surgery at USC. Dr. Neal is known for her near death experience that dramatically changed her world view and her concept of spirituality. She has been featured in the Netflix series Surviving Death. She’s given numerous talks about her experiences including a TED Talk, Death Brings Context to Life.
In the podcast, Mary said to me: “I moved from hope to trust”. Those words have stuck with me. It’s such a profound change in perspective.
How would such a paradigm shift-from hope to trust in a greater spiritual life- change what you choose in this life?
