Where do the five love languages and our cognitive functions intersect?
After a tumultuous relationship, Andrew Winkler found himself grieving and trying to understand. How did he-and others-communicate their love and care? And perhaps more importantly, what exactly did others actually hear or experience.
Andrew came to the realization that love is not a one-size-fits-all concept. He introduces the idea of eight cognitive functions that govern how we perceive and express love and explains that each personality type has a unique way of processing love. Could understanding each other lead to a better, more loving connection? Understanding our own personalities may be the first step to connecting with others. Then, experimenting with different expressions of love may lead to deeper insights into both ourselves and our partners, and the give and take of building a deeper connection.
Delve into the intrigue of love, with oneself and with others. Where might you find that optimal connection of speaking and listening, of giving and receiving?
